Doreen Maller is off on an incredible adventure. She has joined over 2,500 men and women in Avon's 2000 Breast Cancer 3 Day. This is a three-day walk covering 60 miles from San Jose to San Francisco.
Max missed the opening ceremonies as he was still at his first big two day camp sleepover, and Sam was at his camp sleepover, too. But rest assured they were there on that chilly, gray morning in San Jose, along with their Dad, the memory of their great-grandma Annie, and thousands of excited walkers. Although Doreen registered alone for the walk, she ran into a contingent of Gap girls who happily took her in and gave her one of their signature red baseball caps with a pink ribbon. All that's left for her now is the walking. Please join me in wishing her and all her thousands of walking companions a wonderful adventure! Lastly, I'm sure Doreen would want to say a special "thank you" to her thoughtful friends who gave generously in response to her plea, and a "thank you" to Gap for matching many of those contributions.
