Doreen and Steve decided to leave our respective busy days early and head to the beach to see the impending solar eclipse. We called on our dear friend Stuart and his daughter Jesse to join us, as they live at the beach in Half Moon Bay (we hate them for this!). Steve rigged up his digital camera using a couple of pieces of exposed black and white negative film sandwiched inside of his Canon 300/2.8 lens's filter carrier. What you see here is a little on the primitive side, but gives you an idea what it was like out there. We also had fun sharing our view of this celestial event with many passers by on the beach. It was a lovely afternoon. |
